Day By Day Itinerary
Day 1
Depart Nairobi by road (approximately 4 hours) or optional charter flight. Check in to your Amboseli lodge with panoramic views of Kilimanjaro. Afternoon game drive through the swamp areas where elephant herds gather in the hundreds.
Day 2
Dawn and dusk game drives focused on Amboseli's famous elephant families. The Amboseli Elephant Research Project has documented these individuals for decades. Track lions, cheetah, and giraffe on the open floodplains between drives.
Day 3
Morning hike to Observation Hill for a panoramic overview of the whole park, the swamp system, and Mount Kilimanjaro filling the sky. Afternoon drives around Enkongo Narok swamp. Exclusive private bush dinner as the sun sets.
Day 4
A dedicated golden-hour photography game drive -- Kilimanjaro is clearest in the early morning before midday cloud builds. Late morning visit to an authentic Maasai boma -- jump with the warriors, learn about traditional medicine, and drink sweet chai.
Day 5
Drive to the Chyulu Hills -- one of Africa's youngest mountain ranges, born from lava flows just 500 years ago. Bush walk with a Maasai guide through lava caves and cloud forest. Sweeping views over the Tsavo plains and Kilimanjaro. Return to Amboseli for a final dinner.
Day 6
Final sunrise game drive as Kilimanjaro emerges from the mist one last time. Transfer to Nairobi for onward connections. A hard act to follow.
